NCDC Reports 386 New Cases of COVID-19, Again Lagos Lead with 176 Cases
Nigeria on Friday recorded a total number of 386 new coronavirus cases in the country.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, made this known on its Twitter page on Friday night.
With the new reported cases, Nigeria has a total of 3912 cases of the COVID-19 infection.
The agency on Friday said new cases of coronavirus were reported in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The NCDC also reported ten more COVID-19 deaths, taking the country’s total death count to 117
The daily update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC) which was released late Thursday night, saw Lagos State take a major in the number new cases as it recorded 176.
Followed by Kano state with 65 cases, 31 cases in Katsina, Federal Capital Territory had 20 cases, 17 cases in Borno, 15 cases in Bauchi, 14 cases in Nasarawa, 13 cases in Ogun and 10 cases in Plateau.
Oyo, Sokoto, and River state reported 4 cases each, followed by Kaduna with 3 cases, while Edo, Ebonyi and Ondo state recorded 2 cases each. Also Enugu, Imo, Gombe and Osun state reported one case each.
Nigeria thus extends its lead in the sub-region whiles consolidating its spot in the most impacted nations category across Africa.
On the 8th of May 2020, 386 new confirmed cases and 10 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
Till date, 3912 cases have been confirmed, 679 cases have been discharged and 117 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
