226 New Cases Reported as COVID-19 Infections in Nigeria Rises to 6,401
Nigeria’s tally of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country rises to 6,401 on Tuesday night as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announces 226 new cases of coronavirus infection.
The health agency also reported that 90 new patient have been successfully treated and discharged, bringing total people discharged to 1,734. While one fatalities were reported, raising the number of death in the country to 192
NCDC in a statement said that the new cases were recorded in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a tweet via its official handle, the NCDC said 131 new cases were found in Lagos, 25 cases in Ogun, 15 cases in Pleteau and 11 cases in Edo state.
Other states with new cases include: 7-Kaduna,
6-Oyo, 5-FCT, 5-Adamawa, 4-Jigawa, 4-Ebonyi, 4-Borno, 3-Nasarawa, 2-Bauchi, 2-Gombe, 1-Enugu and 1-Bayelsa.
On the 19th of May 2020, 226 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria
No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
Till date, 6401 cases have been confirmed, 1734 cases have been discharged and 192 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
