Nigeria: 575 New Cases of COVID-19 Infections Recorded, 20 Additional Deaths

Nigeria, on Friday recorded 575 new cases of COVID-19, with the latest update the total tally of infected people in the country rose to 31,323.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this on Friday via its official Twitter handle.

Also announced the discharge of 249 patients from isolation centers across the country with 20 new deaths reported.

The new confirmed cases were reported in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 224 infections, while Oyo, FTC, Rivers and Kaduna reported 85, 68, 49 and 39 cases respectively.

While Edo state confirmed 31 cases of the virus, Enugu had 30 cases, Delta reported 11 cases, Niger had 10 cases and Kastina reported 9 cases.

Other states with new infections are Ebonyi-5, Gombe-3, Jigawa-3, Plateau-2, Nassarawa-2, Borno-2, Kano-1, Abia-1.

Nigeria has so far tested 175,656 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

On the 10th of July 2020, 575 new confirmed cases and 20 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
Till date, 31323 cases have been confirmed, 12795 cases have been discharged and 709 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
