Nigeria Records 188 New COVID-19 Cases
According to the latest reports released late Friday by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 188 new COVID-19 cases has been recorded in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as the virus infections toll rose to 56,017
The health agency also noted that 188 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the last 24 hours, while the country’s death toll stands at 1,076 after one coronavirus-related deaths were reported.
Lagos tops the chart with 47 new cases of the virus infections followed by Enugu, Plateau and FCT with 25, 21 and 14 cases respectively.
Other states with new virus infections cases as follows: Abia-11, Delta-10, Bauchi-8, Ondo-8, Kaduna-8, Ogun-6, Imo-5, Benue-4, Katsina-4, Taraba-4, Edo-3, Kwara-3, Oyo-3, Rivers-2 and Yobe-2.
Meanwhile, the agency in line with the national strategy on testing, has continued to scale up diagnostic capacity for COVID-19 in the country.
Since the beginning of the outbreak in Nigeria in February, more than 436,231 samples have been tested by NCDC, out of which 56,017 were positive.
According to the health agency on September 11, 2020, 188 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria.
Till date, 56,017 cases have been confirmed, 43,998 cases have been discharged and 1076 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
