Nigeria Reports 132 COVID-19 Infection, Total Cases Now 56,388
As the nation continues its fight against Coronavirus, the spread of novel Coronavirus Disease COVID-19 in Nigeria continues to slow down. The latest statistics provided shows that the country recorded 132 new cases in 11 states.
With the latest update by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the tally of infected people in the country rose to 56,388
According to the health agency, the numbers of recoveries currently stands at 44,337 with additional 185 patients discharged across the country.
However, one patients were confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications, raising the country’s current fatalities to 1,083
Data obtained via NCDC Twitter handle shows that, Lagos recorded the bulk of the new infections with 52 cases, while Gombe, Plateau and Kwara confirmed 27, 17 and 10.new cases respectively.
Also, Enugu and Ogun had 9 cases, Katsina reported 3 cases, Ekiti had 2 cases and Bauchi, Osun and Rivers confirmed 1 case each.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 442,075 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
According to the NCDC, on the 14th of September 2020, 132 new confirmed cases and 1 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 56,388 cases have been confirmed, 44,337 cases have been discharged and 1,083 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
