Nigeria Reports 126 New COVID-19 Cases, Discharged 3,442
As Nigeria continues its fight against Coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday announced 126 new cases of COVID-19 with three coronavirus-related deaths in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory late Saturday.
With the latest update by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the tally of infected people in the country rose to 56,604.
NCDC also announced the discharge of 3,442 patients from isolation centers across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.
Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that within a 24 hour period, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria recorded 37 new coronavirus cases, while a major financial centre for all of Africa and the economic hub of Nigeria, Lagos had 27 new cases, Plateau, Kaduna, and Abia reported 16, 9 and 7 cases respectively.
Other states with new infections are Gombn-6, Ondo-6, Imo-5, Delta-2, Ekiti-2, Kwara-2, Oyo-2, Bauchi-1, Kano-1, Katsina-1, Ogun-1, Yobe-1.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 479,712 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
According to NCDC on the 16th of September 2020, 126 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 56,604 cases have been confirmed, 47,872 cases have been discharged and 1,091 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
