COVID-19: Nigeria Records 2 Additional Deaths, 133 New Infections
Nigeria has recorded 133 new cases of COVID-19 with 2 coronavirus-related deaths recorded in 8 states and Federal Capital Territory in the last 24 hours.
With the new confirmed cases, the tally of COVID-19 infections recorded across the country rose to 61,440.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter page on Sunday night.
54 patients were discharged from isolation centers across the country.
Confirming the new cases on its verified Twitter handle, NCDC said Lagos reported 90 new cases, followed by Rivers with 13 cases and FCT with 8 cases.
Other states with new cases include: Kaduna-8, Oyo-6, Ondo-3, Katsina-2, Nasarawa-2 and Plateau-1
Since the beginning of the outbreak in Nigeria in February, more than 578,841 samples have been tested by NCDC, out of which 54,587 were positive.
According to the NCDC, on the 18th of October 2020, 133 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
Till date, 61,440 cases have been confirmed, 56,611 cases have been discharged and 1,125 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
